Bihar Shariat is a very authentic and standard book on Hanafi jurisprudence in the Urdu language. The author of this book is Maulana Amjad Ali Azmi, a well-known Sunni scholar.

This book is the most important book of Hanafi jurisprudence of the 20th century, which has been accepted by millions of Muslims of the subcontinent. In this book, the religious issues about Islamic law and the Shariah matters of Muslims have been explained very clearly.

Prior to the writing of this book, Islamic jurisprudence books were taught in the Arabic language to the students in the Islamic Madrasahs of the sub-continent. Introduction of the writer of the book:

Maulana Amjad Ali Azmi was a famous Muslim scholar of India who had expertise in Islamic Jurisprudence, Prophetic Hadith, and Tafsir of the Qur’an. He was born in July 1882 in the province of Uttar Pradesh, India. He was considered one of the most intelligent jurists of his time. Maulana Amjad Ali Azmi received his primary education in his city.

Later, he went to Bareilly City for higher education in Islamic studies. He received higher education in Islamic jurisprudence and hadith from Maulana Ahmed Raza Khan at Madrasa Manjar Islam in Bareilly. He was appointed as a teacher of the subject of Hadith. While teaching here, he wrote a wonderful book on Islamic jurisprudence under commentary.
