Introduction to the Book:
Uraan is a super hit Urdu novel by Umera Ahmed which was very popular in the past. This is a social story in which various social issues of a family, especially marriage and divorce, have been made the subject.
The three main characters of the story of the novel are three women whose names are Sania, Ayesha, and Sawira. These women are complete strangers to each other but come together at different points in life.
The story of the novel revolves around Dr. Faraz Saeed and Ayesha. Ayesha is a medical student studying FSC at a government college in the city. Ayesha gets engaged to Dr. Faraz Saeed and her parents interrupt her studies to marry her off.
Thus, Ayesha gets married to Dr. Faraz Saeed. During the first few months, the relationship between the husband and wife was pleasant but soon fights started between them. Dr. Faraz used to taunt Ayesha as a psychopath and a mental patient and also tortured Ayesha several times.
Things got so tense that the matter reached the point of divorce. So one day Dr. Faraz decided to divorce Ayesha and thus the two got separated. After divorcing Ayesha, Dr. Faraz Saeed chose another girl to marry.

This girl’s name is Sawira and she is a fashion designer by profession. Faraz Saeed feels much better and calms after marrying Sawira. He tells his wife Sawira that his first wife Ayesha was mentally ill, which forced him to divorce her.
Sawira soon finds out that Faraz Saeed divorced Ayesha without any reason. Faraz also tortures Sawira and threatens to divorce her. Due to his violent thinking and negative attitude, Soon Sawira files a divorce case in the family court to get a divorce from Faraz.
Going to the court, he meets Faraz’s ex-wife Ayesha, who tells him that Faraz used to torture her a lot, which led to her fighting with Faraz. Her behavior has been very disgusting. Actually, he himself is a psychiatric and mental patient, but instead of treating himself, he has been treating his wives as psychiatric patients.
The story of the novel is very tragic, disturbing, and sensational. The writer of the novel has exposed a very dark side of our society in this story. Wealthy people belonging to the aristocracy marry girls from middle-class families, use them like tissue paper and later divorce them.
Author’s Introduction:
Umera Ahmed is a famous Pakistani novelist of Urdu literature. She mostly writes novels related to social and women’s issues. In addition, she has also written many novels related to spirituality and Islamism. Umera Ahmed belongs to Gujranwala city of Punjab province of Pakistan.
She received her primary education in her hometown Gujranwala. Later she moved to Sialkot for her higher education. There she obtained her graduation degree from Murray College Sialkot. After that, she came to Lahore and got admission to Government College University.
He obtained his master’s degree in English language and literature from this university. Umera Ahmed started writing at an early age. For a long time, his novels were published in the form of episodes in digests published from Lahore. She has written more than fifty books so far.
Her romantic novels are very popular among readers. The novel Peer e Kamil written by him is his most popular romantic and spiritual novel. Several editions of his books have been published. Some of his books have been declared as best-selling books of the year.
